To say that we have been busy here at Bertino Designs is one of the biggest understatements you will read on this blog. We have been pumping out websites like it’s our job! Well, I guess it is our job. One of the projects we recently finished up is a website for a company called Organized Aging. Organized Aging is based out of Santa Monica, California and they provide services for people over the age of 50 who need help with their home organization. They did not have a website and they knew that they needed a strong presence on the web.
Our initial design went through several incarnations until we wound up with a welcoming, user friendly website. Using a combination of subtle grays, blues, and greens we created a soft color palette that is both visually appealing and easy to read. We decided to use a horizontal navigation on the top. The tabs on the top menu are meant to represent the tabs of a folder, thus signifying organization. Throughout the pages there are a few call to action buttons that we wanted to make big and bold, so people that may have trouble viewing a computer monitor can still easily navigate the site.
There is also a “Tips” section of the website that provides people with some basic home organization tips and ideas. We developed a look for the list of tips that matched the website, while still remaining simple and straightforward. On the rest of the pages we also included a section that had one of the tips, with a link to the full list. We included a picture that would provide visual impact to accompany each one.
Another feature that was included on the website was a Questionnaire. The Questionnaire is put in place so people can fill it out and get a better understanding of their current living situation, and see if there are areas where they may need help improving upon. We created a nice style for the form, which we also used on the Contact Page. The visitor also has the option to print out a simple text version of the Questionnaire that they can fill out by hand. When the visitor clicks the link to print, a very minified version of the form will appear in a print window.
All in all, we are very happy with the final outcome of Organized Aging. We were happy to find solutions to meet all of the needs Organized Aging had in a website. But, enough of me rambling, head on over to the website and check it out yourself!
